The City of Temecula Community Development department has an excellent opportunity for an individual with a diverse background in city planning. The ideal candidate will be innovative, collaborative, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and perform a variety of planning duties with competence and professionalism.
More specifically, the Community Development Department, Long Range Planning Division is hiring an Assistant or Associate Planner to assist with several duties related to a General Plan Update and EIR, development of a Climate Action Plan, Affordable Housing Compliance, Active Transportation Planning, maintaining the City’s Development Code for compliance with State Law, and other long-range planning activities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning and will preferably have a Master’s Degree. Strong candidates will have a minimum of three years professional planning experience, preferably in long range planning. This position requires excellent writing and public presentation skills along with experience facilitating meetings with Commissions, Boards and/or Committees. Ideal candidate will have experience developing Specific Plans or Community Master Plans and working on Housing Elements and/or provision of Affordable Housing.
