Our firm specializes in providing municipal consulting services including, but not limited to agency staffing, conservation planning and biological services, environmental, public finance, housing and community development, urban planning, sustainability and climate change, and creative services.

The PMC San Diego office is seeking qualified Assistant, Associate and Senior Planners to join a diverse team of professionals working together in a variety of functions related to current and long-range planning. Our team works closely together toward the goal of client satisfaction.

Responsibilities will include various functions of current and long range planning, including, but not limited to: review of project plans and project entitlement processes, assist in the development or review of long-term planning documents, serve as an extension of agency staff, prepare/present staff reports, and assist with preparation of environmental documentation.

The successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to efficiently conduct research efforts; provide clear, concise, and accurate technical writing and analysis; and represent PMC and our client agencies during project meetings and public hearings. Must possess working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of city planning, land use planning, and state/federal regulatory processes including CEQA/NEPA. In addition, the successful candidates will communicate effectively and assist with marketing and business development efforts.

The ideal candidates will have experience working in the Southern California area.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in planning or a closely related field and possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and independently.

Qualified candidates for the Assistant Planner positions must have at least one year of progressively responsible planning experience. Qualified candidates for the Associate and Senior Planner positions must have both current- and long-range planning experience, including CEQA compliance, and have at least three years of planning experience for the Associate Planner positions, and at least five years of planning experience for the Senior Planner positions.
