The Community Development department is currently seeking a professional Management Analyst candidate who will be a strong team member and contribute to the Planning and Community Development team and the City of Del Mar organization in general. The ideal candidate will bring their key skills and experiences in administration, research, analysis, and project and program management to the position. The incumbent should be a strong communicator, action oriented, proactive and someone who will take initiative to get things done by using sound judgment to solve problems. Under the general direction of the Planning and Community Development Director, this position will manage, coordinate various projects, and assist with various major planning efforts. While familiarity with planning issues would be advantageous, the City is seeking a well-rounded generalist to work on policy related projects that are oriented toward long range planning. Examples of possible projects for the position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Participation with management and facilitation of streetscape design efforts, and the parking management plan
  • Implementation of plan recommendations, including recommendations from the Climate Action Plan and Sea Level Rise priorities
  • Planning for utility under-grounding, organics recycling, and other similar city-wide service projects
  • Prepare Local Coastal Program Amendments, Zoning Code Amendments, Municipal Code Sections and -Amendments, Ordinances, and/or General Plan Amendments as needed to implement City Council priorities
  • Working with citizen advisory committees on policy initiatives and projects
  • Work on development related fee studies
  • Coordination of public education and community outreach on policy initiatives and projects

Salary Range: $62,229.21 – $94,793.24 Annually
