District 11 is accepting applications for multiple positions at both the Associate Transportation Planner level and Transportation Planner level, in the Planning Division. All applicants will be screened for breadth and depth of experience. Only the most qualified applicants will be interviewed based on screening criteria. For this reason, it is especially important that applicants take special care in accurately and completely filling out the application.

In addition to the state application, each prospective applicant is required to submit a one-page written paper (Statement of Qualifications) describing his or her qualifications and interest in the position. In the statement please discuss your: 1) Interest in the advertised position, 2) Your ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, 3) Specific college course work and career experience that qualify you for the position as described in the Duty Statement, 4) Any special skills you may bring to the position, 5) Initiative in completing tasks independently.
Under the direction of a Senior Transpiration Planner (Branch Manager), the incumbent works at the full journey level to research and analyze data for various transportation planning studies and reports. The incumbent independently or in a lead capacity prepares plans and studies for transportation systems and researches and analyzes data for long-range transportation studies.

All methods of appointment will be considered (e.g. list appointment, transfer, re-instatement, surplus, SROA, re-employment, Training & Development assignment, etc.). All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the classification in order to be eligible for appointment to the position.
