This at-will, management position plans, directs, manages and oversees the activities and operations of the Community Development Department including planning and development services, redevelopment and housing, and the Building Division; provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager; and performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in urban or regional planning, architecture, public administration, or a related field considered useful in urban planning, redevelopment, and building codes administration. A Master’s degree and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) strongly desired.
Experience: Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in the field of redevelopment or urban and environmental planning including three years of management and administrative responsibility in building codes enforcement, including program administration and staff supervision responsibilities at the local government level.
