The City of Encinitas is looking for an energetic, creative and experienced leader who has the ability to work effectively with the community, leadership team and staff across the organization. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as an accessible, approachable, and motivating director with a strong focus on customer service. In addition to a high level of planning knowledge, the ideal candidate must possess extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of organizational management, budgeting, administration and personnel management along with excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills.
A Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in a related field plus seven years of recent professional managerial experience, which includes at least three years of supervision and experience in public sector planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Public sector management experience and extensive experience working with the California Coastal Commission are preferred.
