Program: “Implementing ADUs to Help Alleviate Our Housing Deficit”
- California State Senator Bob Wieckowski, author of SB1069, will discuss his bill and its intent. SB1069 went into effect on January 1 and eases the creation of accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in single-family and multi-family residential zones throughout California. He will also address additional recent ADU legislation and how it relates to SD1069.
- Greg Nickless, Housing Policy Analyst for California’s Housing & Community Development (HCD) department, will provide practical advice for implementing the new ADU laws at the local level.
- A moderated Q&A with the speakers will give attendees the opportunity to get their questions answered as well as to learn how other communities in the county are approaching ADUs.
