Please join us SCAN for a meeting being held in Southern California to hear about the wireless “shot clocks” and the “deemed granted” processes imposed on California local governments through the FCC’s 2009 and 2014 rulings, AB 57 (which becomes effective 1/1/16), and Section 6409.  This series of legal requirements, taken together, encourages the expansion of wireless networks, but at what cost to local governments?  What changes to the processing of cell phone antennas and towers should be considered?  Confirmed speakers include:

  • Robert “Tripp” May III, Telecom Law Firm, PC
  • Trevor Lottes, President, Kapstone Planning
  • Stephen Higa, Principal Planner, City of Irvine
  • Michael W. Shonafelt, Newmeyer & Dillion

January 21 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Heritage Park
10200 Slate Avenue
Fountain Valley, CA

The event is a primer for City Planners, Public Works, and City Attorneys on a new State law (AB 57) that may create automatic approvals for brand new cell towers/antennas and collocations based on 150/90 day clocks. For related additional background and tools click here.

Hosted by SCAN NATOA.
