Open San Diego National Day of Civic Hacking

The National Day of Civic Hacking is an national event that brings people together to focus on improving their community. San Diego’s National Day activity will be anchored around presentations and hands-on participation for all Levels of experience. It will take place in Downtown, with specific-focus satellite events hosted in in other San Diego neighborhoods.
National Day will be family-friendly, with engaging activity for programmers, urbanists, designers, municipal staff, makers, parents and children, students and anyone else interested in presentations and hands-on activities focused on making the lives of San Diegans better.
In addition to talks from Civic leaders, demos, activities and team-centered code development challenges, the day will include a showcase of the latest technologies, from new Civic apps, 3D printing and robotics to inspirational examples for young people interested STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers.
There’s something for everyone to do, but it’s also fine to come and just be an observer for any of the activities that ignite your curiosity.
The mainstage event will take place at Fab Lab San Diego, 847 14th Street San Diego, CA 92101. Details on the Placemaking/Bike Advocacy and the Youth STEM satellite events can be found on the registration page.
All activity, including satellite events will take place between 10am and 4pm.
