When Business Friendly Happens to Planners: Ethics in Planning
June 28, 2013 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
In a down economy, every elected official wants business friendly customer service. What does that mean to planners with adopted plans and ordinances? How can planners meet the expectations for expedited everything while being attentive to their legal and moral obligations, including the AICP Code of Ethics? This session will help identify how planners can help lead the implantation of business friendly practices. Methods for making procedures more business friendly will be reviewed in the context of the AICP Code of Ethics. Several scenarios will be discussed and ideas for resolving potential conflicts in an ethical manner will be presented. In addition, Brian Mooney, Mike Stepner, Kathleen Garcia, and Barry J. Schultz will participate in a panel discussion that focuses on the application of the AICP Code of Ethics in the San Diego planning profession.
Lunch will be provided and will be served starting at 11:30 am.
Please arrive early so we can get started promptly at 12 pm.
