Manages and protects utility operational land rights, including easements, licenses, and fee properties. Oversees and negotiates with various types of land owners, private developers, individual land owners and governmental agencies for the resolution of complex proposed uses impacting SDG&E’s access roads, transmission rights-of-way and fee properties. Reviews survey sketches, construction plans, assessor sheets and maps to define the geography and boundary of properties, and potential impacts of proposed improvements to SDG&E facilities. Prepares various exhibits and legal descriptions to be used in documents authorizing staging yards, encroachments and joint uses of land rights. Responds to inquiries related to the interpretation of easement language and rights including customer inquiries and complaint resolution. Protects company land rights and access in the field as necessary. Works closely with internal SDG&E departments including right-of-way, vegetation management, environmental, project management, transmission engineering, transmission construction and maintenance, civil structural, customer service, construction services, public relations, regulatory and legal. Protection of company land rights for both transmission and distribution systems, with emphasis on gas transmission. Respond to customer inquiries regarding easements, encroachments, trash, vegetation, and access. Preparation of documents to protect and preserve land rights. Protects company land rights and access in the field as necessary. Review plans of projects that may encroach on easement or fee property rights. Provide support for SDG&E Line 1600 Project Team. Performs other duties as assigned.
