The County of San Diego’s Planning & Development Services (PDS) is seeking qualified applicants for Land Use/Environmental Planning Manager. The Land Use/Environmental Planning Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing the work of planning staff and consultants involved in various projects. Responsibilities include project management, plan/report preparation, review of all deliverables, and processing of land use projects.

The current vacancy is in the Advance Planning Division. This position will lead the Sustainability Team in the research and analysis of projects and programs such as the County’s Climate Action Plan (CAP). The position will require close coordination with internal and external stakeholders as the CAP is prepared and implemented.

PDS is looking for a leader who is able to communicate effectively and is a progressive thinker who has demonstrated experience at policy and ordinance development in a fast-paced and high-profile environment. The ideal candidate will also have successful experience in managing, mentoring, and coaching staff.
