Melanie Tylke has served as the Young Planners Group (YPG) Chair for the past two years. She has been actively involved in the YPG since 2011, from volunteering at community events, organizing planning outings, to serving as the Mentorship and Education Subcommittee Co-Chair running the ever popular Mentorship Program. With a degree in Urban Studies & Planning from our local UC San Diego, Eleanor Roosevelt College, Melanie has embraced their motto of “developing world citizens through scholarship, leadership, and service.” Passionate about bringing all three of these pillars together in this position, she hopes she has been able to provide fun and exciting events for our section’s young and emerging planners. Melanie currently works as a Land Use/Environmental Planner at the County of San Diego’s Department of Parks and Recreation, some may say she is our very own San Diego version of Leslie Knope!
