I am Mirle Rabinowitz Bussell and I am the Academic/California Planning Foundation Liaison for the Board. I am a faculty member in the Urban Studies and Planning Program at UC San Diego, and as one of the newer members on the Board, I am excited to further bridge professional and academic planning activities in San Diego. My Ph.D. is in urban planning, but I have an undergraduate degree in architecture. At UC San Diego, I teach courses on urban design history, land use planning, and housing policy. I am also the associate director for UC San Diego’s new Center on Sustainability Science, Planning, and Design. I truly enjoy working at UC San Diego although I seem to get older every year while my students stay the same age!
