Civic San Diego (Civic SD) is the newly formed public, nonprofit corporation working on behalf of the City of San Diego to assist in completing redevelopment projects as well as overseeing land use permitting and planning, continued management of the downtown parking district, and economic development activities in the downtown and southeastern areas. Civic San Diego works with qualified developers, property owners and other public agencies on rehabilitation projects, new construction and public improvements.

Civic SD is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Planner (associate or senior level depending on experience, knowledge and qualifications). The Planner will perform a range of planning tasks focused on development review; design review; CEQA review; land use policy and code implementation; and community plan implementation including mobility, parking, and alternative transportation plans.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in planning, architecture, urban design or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban design, architecture or planning in dense urban settings. Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of four (4) years of related experience to be considered for an associate level position, and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience to be considered for a senior level position.
