Salary: $117,337 – $150,567 Annually

The Community Development Department is searching for professional candidates who are detail-oriented and organized, with a positive attitude and helpful disposition. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to utilize sound judgment, discretion and confidentiality are critical. The Planning Manager requires a high-level of initiative and decision making resulting in significant impact to the City.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in urban planning, architecture, public administration, or a related field and five (5) years of professional experience in planning, zoning, and related community development activities, preferably with a government agency including two (2) years of project management or supervisory experience. A Master’s Degree with major coursework in community development, urban planning, civil engineering, or a related field is desirable.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License by time of appointment.
- American Institute of Certified Planners certification is also desired.
