Michael Baker’s San Diego Planning Department is seeking a Senior Community Planner/Project Manager specializing in community planning, outreach, and active transportation projects. The candidate will be responsible for directing, organizing, and managing complex projects and staff. You must have the ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups and must work well with minimal instruction or supervision. You will also be responsible for various coordination and leadership activities which are related to business development.
The position requires excellent skills in time management, organization, and the ability to communicate effectively across various mediums. In addition, the position requires, but is not limited to, the following:
•Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.
•Experience in effectively managing a project team and client management
•Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.
•Creativity, initiative, and the ability to express thoughts clearly and simply.
•Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
•Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to network on a variety of levels.
•Successful track record of winning work
•Work independently with little supervision
•Meet tight schedules and timelines
Minimum qualifications include a degree in Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or related field (Master’s degree is preferred), and 7-10 years of relevant professional experience (consulting experience is preferred).
