The San Diego Young Planners Group is excited to offer numerous opportunities to give back and help improve your community! Starting this year, we will be participating in a number of volunteer events for which we’re asking for YOUR help.

We’ll be kicking off our community service with a BANG by going big for Earth Month in April! During this time we will support other great San Diego organizations by volunteering our time to help forward their causes. Our April events will include:
- South Bay Earth Fair (April 6th in Chula Vista): We will be partnering with I Love a Clean San Diego and GO by Bike to help spread the word about composting, waste diversion, and alternative modes of transportation.
- RiverBlitz and Trail Team (April 13th in Mission Valley): Under the astute leadership of the San Diego River Park Foundation we’ll traverse creeks and hilltops and pick up trash in our local open spaces.
- Annual Creek-to-Bay Clean Up (April 27th): Alongside thousands of other San Diegans, we will be participating in the 17th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup, organized by I Love a Clean San Diego.
If you are interested in signing up for any of these upcoming volunteer opportunities, please RSVP here for South Bay Earth Fair, RiverBlitz, and Creek to Bay Clean-Up.
Be on the lookout for future volunteering opportunities including our annual Parking Day spot, Bike-to-Work Day, and Worm Wranglin’ with the Solana Center!
**BUT WAIT – THERE’S MORE**
To celebrate our young planners making strides to improve our communities, YPG will be tallying all of the hours our members volunteer throughout the year. At the end of the year, the young planner with the most volunteer hours will win the ever prestigious Magnificent Volunteer Planner award and receive special recognition at the annual APA/AEP Holiday Party in December

We look forward to spending our time with you all cleaning up, engaging others, and diggin’ for worms over the coming year! Email us at sdypgvolunteer@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Sincerely – the YPG team.
